We are excited to announce that DesanaGiving is working to help support the 18th Avenue Family Enrichment Center in North Nashville. Their mission coincides with ours and we are looking forward to impacting the lives of children at the center.
The Family Enrichment Center (EAFEC) was founded in 1934 as the Negro Youth Work Committee with the mission of providing wholesome recreational programs for male youth. It has expanded to provide services that make a difference in the lives of North Nashville families and individuals. Our mission is to positively impact the quality of life for children and families, primarily in North Nashville, by responding to the needs of the community through center-based and outreach programs. Center-Based, we provide a three-star rated Early Care and Education program for children ages six weeks to five years old. In addition, we offer an After School and Summer Enrichment Program for children six to twelve years old.
With your donations, Desana was able to help provide thanksgiving dinner to 26 families. In addition, we donated non perishables to additional 27 families.
We are buying a gift for each of 64 children that are currently enrolled at the center. These gifts will be wrapped and delivered in December 14th.
Desana has some exciting news! We are proud to announce we are partnering with two other local nonprofits, Timothy’s Gift, and Rise Up Tennessee for a prison ministry. On December 16th, we will go to the Maury county jail and throw a Christmas party for some of the female inmates and their families. The inmates can ‘earn’ Christmas visits with their children by completing classes ranging from GED to anger management and parenting. We will have a professional photographer on hand to take family photos. In addition, we will provide gifts for the children, and refreshments for everyone. We hope this is the beginning of something big!Donate to Kathi's Projects
