This shelter is a daytime facility that seeks to fill a societal gap by providing services to disadvantaged children that do not qualify for full-time institutionalized orphanage care. It is a place where children can come to have a meal, a place to study, or just get some love and attention. Desana provides the operating costs of the shelter, which is run by two volunteers. The funds allow the shelter to provide meals and offer laundry services for children who may not otherwise have access to such basic amenities. Without Desana’s contributions, Kind Heart Shelter would be forced to close its doors, depriving 30-35 innocent children of their needs.
